Location
Yealm Moorings at Thorn Pool is considered to be one of the most beautiful and unspoilt anchorages in Britain. It is designated an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, a Bass Preservation Area, Marine Special Area of Conservation and a Site of Special Scientific Interest.
The moorings are surrounded on each side by ancient woodland with numerous rare species of birds (ospreys, peregrines, egrets and numerous waders). Be lulled to sleep by the plaintive call of the curlew! Enjoy views from your mooring over rolling Devon countryside to Dartmoor in the far distance.
Only minutes from the water side pubs and shops of Newton Ferrers and Noss Mayo, and less than 10 minutes from the open sea. There are secure Facilities for car parking and storage of dinghies. Access is 15 minutes from the Exeter – Plymouth A38. These are the only moorings on the Yealm Estuary that are not reserved for local residents.
Tranquil, peaceful and quiet, our moorings are surrounded by beautiful Devon countryside with extraordinary views.
Safe, accessible on the beautiful River Yealm in a sheltered location less than a mile from the sea. A variety of mooring options are available including deep water swinging moorings and fore and aft.
Mooring terms are for 12 month periods. The Annual Charge is payable in advance and in full. Please contact us further for availability of the moorings for your boat, yacht, catamaran.
